Crab Curry.. Kanyakumari style...

Crab Curry is one of my favorite dish. Crab meat is the tastiest in the seafood lineup. Crab hardly takes 5 to 8 minutes to cook. I am preparing it today in South Indian Style, in which Coconut milk is essential and gives exotic taste of Kanyakumari and places around. Lets start cooking....

Ingredients:
1 kg of Crabs [will get around 3 - 4 big crabs].
2 Medium sized Onions.
2 Medium sized Tomato.
Small bunch of Curry Leaves.
Small bunch of Coriander Leaves.
2 Tablespoons of Ginger and Garlic paste.
1 Cup of Grated Coconut.
4 Green Chillies [Add more or less depending on your taste].
Few Fennel seeds.
1/2 inch of Cinnamon.
1 Tablespoon of oil.
Salt to taste.

Preparation Method:
Step 1:
Heat the Oil in a pan and add the fennel seeds with cinnamon, then add chopped onions with curry leaves and saute.

Step 2:
Once the onions are translucent add the chopped tomatoes and ginger garlic paste, saute till the tomato gets cooked.

Step 3: Now add salt and let it cooked for a minute. And then add water and let it boil.

Step 4:
Once the water starts to boil add the crabs to the sauce.

Step 5:
Grind the coconut and green chilli together into a fine paste and add it to the mixture once the crab turns red.

Step 6:
Cover and cook the carb for 5 minutes. Crab curry will be ready to server.

Just before Serving sprinkle chopped coriander leaves and sever it hot with rice.

Crab curry Tastes good and needs a bit of expertise to eat and enjoy the meat. Do not bother to use both the hands to eat crab... lol... The Bigger the Crab the more meat you get with less work while eating.. ;-p... Happy Cooking!!!
